Digital Threat Analysis of Egyptian Women’s Organizations

This study examines the digital violence faced by organizations working on women’s issues in Egypt, focusing on the digital risks they encounter due to the nature of their work.

Adopting a theoretical framework based on vulnerability and impact indicators, a novel predictive score—The SecDev Foundation’s Feminist Organizations’ Cyber Risk Barometer—was developed to assess the likelihood of an organization becoming a target of digital violence and potential mitigation measures. This tool offers a new method to gauge potential risks by analyzing key aspects of an organization’s operational profile.

The study is grounded in real-world data from organizations operating in Egypt and includes detailed case studies to validate and refine the framework, providing critical insights into the digital threats these organizations face.
