The SecDev Foundation is proud to support the 2nd Central Asian Internet Governance Forum (CAIGF) in Tajikistan.
The main purpose of the CAIGF is to create a public platform for discussing internet governance policies in Central Asia. The Forum addresses issues related to cybersecurity, ICT development, internet freedom and regulation. In doing so, the CAIGF brings together experts and practitioners from the region and around the world to:
- Assess the continuing development of the internet and its influence on the socio-political and economic situation in the region.
- Identify the most balanced approaches to political and technical regulation and governance of internet.
- Generate recommendations for the development of government policies based on regional and international practices.
The 2nd Central Asian Internet Governance Forum will be held on 22 – 23 June 2017 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The call for presentation proposals closes 29 May 2017.
The CAIGF is hosted in conjunction with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Civil Internet Policy Initiative Foundation.
The inaugural Central Asian Internet Governance Forum was held in 2016 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, of which the SecDev Foundation was a founding partner.
